Terms and conditions of use

These Terms and Conditions apply to all PARADISUS TOUR programs.

Minimum Purchase:

Rate:  Published PROGRAM fees are based on land only, and do not include U.S. domestic airfare or international airfare to or from the U.S. Transportation in Cuba related to the PROGRAM is included as indicated on each PROGRAM. Land-only rates are guaranteed upon receipt of deposit. Printed rates are subject to change without notice.  Paradisus Tour provides as a service to PARTICIPANT’S, the ability to purchase licensed charter air from Miami to Cuba, Cuban visa, and other airport related services for a fixed fee, called FLIGHT PACKAGE.  Flight package prices are subject to change unless accompanied by a confirmed booking. 

Passports and Visas: Passengers are responsible for ensuring that they have the proper travel documents and MUST CHECK with the respective consulate(s) or visa agency to determine whether any visas or passports are required. Passports are required to be valid for at least 6 months after the date of travel. Visit paradisustour.com/visas.aspx for more information. Any information provided pertains to US citizens only. Non-US citizens should check with the respective consulate of the country(s) to be visited for current entry requirements.

 CUBA: The PARTICIPANT is required to have a passport valid for six months after the return from their PARADISUS TOUR  PROGRAM.  PARTICIPANTS holding a passport from a foreign country; green card, U.S. visa, or special-use passport are solely responsible for understanding the limitations imposed on their passport, green card, U.S. visa, or special-use passport regarding re-entry back into the United States. PARADISUS TOUR cannot be held liable for a PARTICIPANT who is refused service by the Carrier Service Provider or entry into Cuba because of a restricted U.S. visa or Passport or denial of a visa by the Cuban government.  In the event the PARTICIPANT is refused entry to Cuba because of Visa or Passport issues or denial of a visa by the Cuban government, applicable cancellation penalties may apply.

PARTICIPANT is responsible for having on his or her person proper documentation to enter Cuba as well as to re-enter the United States, and proper documentation to travel via a third country (if applicable) to Cuba. For certain categories of travel, a TSP can assist PARTICIPANT in applying for a Cuban visa from the Cuban government and delivering it before departure. The Cuban Government retains the right to grant or deny visas.

Travelex Travel Protection (Insurance): Missing a vacation is bad enough. Losing the money you paid for your vacation is even worse. Travel Protection is therefore highly recommended by PARADISUS TOUR. Your premium is related to your trip cost, so you don’t have to worry about being over-insured. Travel Protection Plan is non-refundable after 10 day free look period. Registration & Payments:  The PARTICIPANT has agreed to pay the applicable PROGRAM fee in consideration of Paradisus Tour providing the opportunity for the PARTICIPANT to participate in Paradisus Tour’s PROGRAM, inclusive of accommodations and other services for the PARTICIPANT as set forth below. A $275 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration. The remainder of the fee and Flight Package cost is due 60 calendar days prior to the date that the PARTICIPANT is scheduled to arrive in Miami or Cuba, depending on the tour start location. If payment in full for PROGRAM fee and/or Flight Package is not received on or before the due date, the PARTICIPANT’s PROGRAM may be cancelled.

PRICES: Prices are per person based upon shared twin room occupancy. All prices are based on current exchange rates and until final payment are subject to change without notice. If the US Dollar devalues by 5% or more, Paradisus Tour reserves the right to increase prices accordingly. Prices do not include items of a personal nature such as laundry, wines, water, beverages, food other than the table d'hote menu, passport and visa fees, insurance, and foreign port taxes unless specifically indicated in the package inclusions. Prices are correct at time of publication; however, as airfares continually fluctuate and classes of service may have limited capacity, tour package prices and availability will change accordingly. In case of human or computer error, Paradisus Tour reserves the right to re-invoice for the correct price or service. A full refund will be made to passengers who choose not to pay an increase, provided  Paradisus Tour receives a written cancellation within five days of the price increase notification.

PAYMENT & CANCELLATION:

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit is due at the time of reservation. *

Packages without Cruise and Hotel Only: $200 per person

Cuba: $500 per person

Full Payment:

All reservations: 60 days prior

Except as follows:

Reservations with European and Russian River Cruises, Mekong and Irrawaddy River Cruises, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Russia, Easter Island & Galapagos Islands: 90 days prior

Discovery Tours (Ireland, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Myanmar, Turkey): 90 days prior

Reservations with Sea Cruises including Galapagos Cruises & Norway Cruises: 120 days prior

Instant Purchase Airfare or Package: At time of reservation

Special Events: Earlier payment as described on your invoice

* Full payment deadline may vary based on cabin category, length of sailing, and seasonality. Holiday sailings such as Christmas and New Year periods may have earlier deadlines.

Late Payment: If there is any outstanding balance by the Final Payment Due date listed on your invoice, all travel services will be subject to automatic cancellation. A service reinstatement fee of $50 will be added to your invoice and must be paid in advance in order to apply for reconfirmation of services.

Last Minute: All payments made within 30 days of departure must be made by credit or debit card. All reservations must be made no later than 15 days prior to departure. If requested services cannot be confirmed, payment will be refunded. If services are confirmed, final payment is due within 24 hours and all applicable cancellation penalties will apply.

Form of Payment: US Dollar check, bank check, money order, wire transfer, major credit cards or debit cards. Credit card charges will be accepted by phone or online to fulfill non-refundable deposit requirement. Final payment will be processed upon submission of a completed Paradisus Tour Credit Card Form (PDF Version | html version) or online. Third-party credit cards are not acceptable. All payments made within 30 days of departure must be in the form of a certified check, money order, or credit or debit card; certified checks and money orders should be delivered to Gate 1 no later than 3 days following the reservation. Payments made by wire transfer must include an additional $25 wire transfer fee. There is a $50 fee for returned checks.

Refunds: Refunds are processed to the credit card(s) originally used for payment, up to the total amount paid, with any remaining balance paid by US Dollar check.

Special Events & Products: Deposit, Final Payment, and Cancellation penalties may differ for special events, tours with internal flights, select hotels and tour packages and will be advised at time of booking on your invoice.

Cancellation: Once a partial or full payment has been made, cancellations will only be accepted in writing. Email your cancellation to cancel@paradisustour.com including your reservation number, full name and date of travel. If you do not receive an acknowledgement within 48 hours, call 305-521-9153 to ensure your information was received. Cancellation terms will be applied based on the date that the written cancellation is received and based on the following dates prior to departure.

Cancellation penalties apply to packages and/or services as indicated below. Package penalties include airfare, except when Instant Purchase Airfare is purchased. Instant Purchase Airfares are always subject to 100% penalty in which case only the remaining land package (or other airfares) will be subject to the penalties below. Deposit is fully refundable within 7 days only if Paradisus Tour requests and receives a verbal passenger consent to the potential for post-purchase prices increase(s) due to fuel surcharges or increases in government taxes up to the time of final payment. This does not apply to passengers who select Instant Purchase airfares and also no longer applies once the online and/or written Passenger Agreement has been completed.

Cuba- Cancellation & Refund: Paradisus Tour reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject an individual at any time prior to departure, or to cancel the Paradisusu Tour PROGRAM in which a PARTICIPANT is scheduled to participate. In the unlikely event of such a cancellation by Paradisus Tour, or if a PARTICIPANT has been rejected, the total amount paid to IC (less airfare) will be refunded, unless the cancellation is due to non-payment of the PROGRAM fee and/or Flight Package by the PROGRAM fee’s due date or is due to governmental action beyond Paradisus Tour’s control, in which case the amount refunded will be reduced to the extent IC has incurred expenses in organizing the PROGRAM. Other than such a refund, IC will not be responsible to a PARTICIPANT for any other refund, costs, interest, liability or damages of any kind. 

If PARTICIPANT cancels for any reason, he or she must notify Paradisus Tour in writing. The cancellation will be effective upon Paradisus Tour’s receipt of the written notification at its office in New Rochelle, New York. IC incurs substantial administrative and planning costs prior to the departure of PARTICIPANT. Therefore, regrettably, if PARTICIPANT cancels his or her participation in the PROGRAM, funds paid by PARTICIPANT to  can be refunded only as set forth below.

The $275 deposit is non-refundable. PARTICIPANT may apply this deposit to another Paradisus Tour PROGRAM to be scheduled to depart within 365 days of the original scheduled start date, subject to space availability.

If the cancellation is effective:

61 days or more prior to the scheduled start date, the Fee and Flight Package costs paid, not including the deposit and any applicable airline cancellation penalties, will be refunded;

60 to 45 days prior to the scheduled start date, 50% of the Fee and Flight Package costs will be retained, and the balance, not including the deposit and any applicable airline cancelation penalties, will be refunded;

44 to 31 days prior to the scheduled start date, 75% of the Fee and Flight Package costs will be retained, and the balance, not including the deposit and any applicable airline cancelation penalties, will be refunded;

30 or fewer days prior to the scheduled start date, none of the Fee or Flight Package costs will be refunded.

If PARTICIPANT cancels his/her program and chooses a refund, PARTICIPANT will forfeit the future use of his/her deposit.

No refunds will be made for unused portions of the PROGRAM for any reason. Flight package costs are non-transferable.

 

PARTICIPANT is responsible for transportation costs to the start location in Miami or other designated gateway city. The PARTICIPANT is also solely responsible for any airfare or other travel fees, charges, expenses or penalties that might result from any cancellation of or change in the PARTICIPANT’s PROGRAM, whether the PARTICIPANT cancels the PROGRAM or it is cancelled or altered by Paradisus Tour. 

It is very important that a PARTICIPANT understands the cancellation policy. If it is not clear, the PARTICIPANT should ask for clarification. Paradisus Tour cannot make exceptions to this cancellation policy for any reason, including medical emergencies. Medical Evacuation insurance and $1,000 of Trip Cancellation insurance is automatically included in the PROGRAM fee.  PARADISUS TOUR  STRONGLY URGES THE PARTICIPANT TO UPGRADE AND/OR PURCHASE ADDITIONAL TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE.

Changes to Registration: Changes to type of PROGRAM or start date by participant are considered a cancellation and are subject to the Cancellation and Refund policy found herein.   Participant changes may be subject to additional airline or hotel fees should the original rates no longer be available for your revised travel dates. Revisions to air tickets are subject to the airline fare rules, change fees, and cancellation policies. Air prices may vary depending on the day of travel, gateway city, routing, and airline class of service booked, which is determined by seat availability.

Charter Flight arrangements to Havana:  Direct flights to Cuba from the U.S. are operated by an OFAC-authorized Carrier Service Provider (Charter Company) and are arranged by an OFAC- authorized Travel Service Provider (TSP).  Charter flight times are authorized on a monthly basis by the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Cuban Government, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.  Paradisus Tour receives authorized flight times 15-45 days before departure.  Paradisus Tour strongly encourages PARTICIPANTS to wait until flight times are communicated to make domestic flight arrangements. Paradisus Tour is not responsible for any missed, delayed or cancelled flights.

Cuban Born Participants: PARTICIPANT acknowledges that the Cuban Government imposes different requirements for Cuban-born persons traveling to Cuba than others, and that such a person obtaining a Cuban visa, if needed, can take a minimum of 8 to 12 weeks.  Paradisus Tour suggests that all Cuban-born persons wishing to participate in the Program contact Paradisus Tour or an authorized Charter Company directly for more information.  Paradisus Tour is not responsible for any information it provides to participants in this regard, or for any delay or denial in the issuance of a Cuban visa, if required.

Changes to Programs: We endeavor to operate the PROGRAM as outlined herein. However, circumstances beyond our control may require an adjustment to the PROGRAM or its inclusions. We strive to avoid such changes, but must reserve the right to make such modifications. If a PARTICIPANT cancels his or her participation in the PROGRAM because of a PROGRAM change, normal cancellation penalties will apply.

We must reserve the right to substitute hotels if necessary.

 

Travelers requiring Special Assistance: PARTICIPANT must report any disability requiring special attention at the time a reservation is requested. Paradisus Tour will make reasonable attempts to accommodate the special needs of such PARTICIPANT, but does not guarantee this, and is not responsible for any denial of services by airline charter companies, Cuban carriers, hotels, and other independent suppliers. Paradisus Tour regrets that it cannot provide individual assistance to a PARTICIPANT for walking, dining, getting on and off motor coaches, ships and other transportation vehicles, or assist with other personal needs. PARTICIPANTS who need such assistance must be accompanied by a qualified companion who is also a PARTICIPANT in the PROGRAM. 

Age Policy:  Children: All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum age for children on escorted tours is 8. Minimum age for children on Family Vacation tours is 6. Minimum age for European River Cruise programs is 12. Minimum age for Mekong River Cruise programs is 12. Minimum age for game drives in Kruger National Park (South Africa) is 12. Minimum age for Norwegian Cruise Line® is 6 months old. There is no minimum age on independent packages. Discounts for children sharing a room as third may apply to children under 12. Accompanying adults are responsible for the safety of their children including to provide any necessary safety equipment (such as infant/child seats) where appropriate. Please note that many countries have adopted practices to prevent international abductions of children. If a person under the age of 18 years will be travelling with an adult other than his/her parents, or with only one parent, it is recommended that a notarized letter be written by the parents, or non-travelling parent, granting authorization to travel, including the dates of travel.

Cuba: Due to the educational and cultural nature of our people-to-people exchanges, participants on Paradisus Tour, tours should be at least 12 years-old. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
